Bio
With over 20 years of experience in higher education, Valerie understands how family engagement impacts student success. In her current role, she collaborates with offices and departments across campus to cultivate and implement purposeful volunteer opportunities for families through the Family Ambassador program. She serves as the staff liaison and support regional chairs in their mission to foster engagement opportunities for Pack Families across the nation.
She supports the director in planning and implementing events for Pack Families, including Parents and Families Weekend, Spring Fling, the First in Family Luncheon, and other programmatic initiatives.
She is also responsible for creating strategic partnerships with local and national merchants to pass along discounts to NC State families. In addition, she supervises the daily operations of the Parents’ HelpLine. She supports student leaders working in the Office of Parents and Families Services in cultivating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide excellent service to NC State families.
