Monica Herrera
Bio
Monica Herrera joined the Wolfpack in 2020 as a transfer student majoring in Interpersonal, Organizational, and Rhetorical Communication. Although her time on campus as a student was limited due to the pandemic, she was still successful in becoming a part of the community and creating meaningful relationships with her peers. During her senior year, Monica became the President of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association’s official honor society on campus. In this role, she organized events and sought out volunteer opportunities for members.
Shortly after graduating from NC State in 2022, Monica began her role as the Program Coordinator for the office of Parents and Families Services. She now enjoys assisting the team in organizing and hosting Parents and Families Weekend and Spring Fling. Throughout the year, she works on engaging Wolfpack families with various initiatives including Coffee Chats, Second Year Power Hours, and Facebook lives. She also works closely with Parent Allies, the student leadership team employed by Parents and Families Services, to provide mentorship and feedback as they diligently work to create social media posts and assist with events.
Monica is proud to be part of the Wolfpack, even though she was born and raised in Chapel Hill. As a student, she enjoyed participating in volunteer opportunities, including translating for Spanish-speaking parents at elementary school parent and family events. She is thrilled to continue assisting parents, helping them feel a part of the Wolfpack. In her free time, you can find her spending time with family, looking for new recipes to try out, going to the beach, watching Pack football, and attending Carolina Hurricanes games with her friends. Go Pack! Go Canes!
