Jamie Pendergrass
Bio
Jamie began working in higher education in October 2004. He served four years at the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA) and the rest of the time at NC State’s Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid in a number of different roles.
As an Associate Director in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, Jamie currently manages the Federal Direct Loan, Alternative Loan, and Federal Pell Grant programs, encompassing approximately $160-165 million each academic year. Jamie also manages the IT operations of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. This includes serving as the OIT Functional Lead where he is the liaison with OIT developers to ensure efficient and timely project management of office software enhancements, testing, or other system management needs. Jamie supervises the Loan Specialist and IT Support Analyst positions in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
Jamie is passionate about the financial aid profession as he is a first generation college student who owes his ability to afford and attend college to receiving financial aid as a student. Jamie served as President of the North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NCASFAA) in 2018-19. When not working to serve students or helping colleagues, you can find Jamie reading, enjoying politics, spending time with friends or family, or cuddling with his two kitties.
