EMAS Launches Wolfpack Connect to Strengthen NC State’s Commitment to Transfer Success
Each October, colleges and universities across the country celebrate National Transfer Student Week — a time to recognize the achievements of transfer students and the vital role they play in shaping dynamic campus communities.
This year’s celebration holds special significance. Just last month, the Division of Enrollment Management and Services (EMAS) at NC State launched Wolfpack Connect, a new guaranteed admission initiative designed to make the transfer process more transparent, predictable and accessible for all community college students across North Carolina.
A Strategic Step Forward
Wolfpack Connect is one of several new EMAS-led initiatives aimed at supporting student success from the start of the enrollment journey. Through programs like this, EMAS continues to empower success to all students and to advance NC State’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality education to learners across North Carolina.
Strengthening Partnerships With North Carolina Community Colleges
With Wolfpack Connect, EMAS builds on that momentum, creating a seamless, supportive partnership between NC State and all of North Carolina’s community colleges — and reaffirming the university’s commitment to helping every qualified student find a clear path to a four-year degree.
A New Path to the Pack
Wolfpack Connect offers eligible students at participating community colleges a guaranteed pathway to NC State. Participants can choose from more than 100 majors and concentrations and follow clear, customized transfer guides that show exactly how their community college courses will apply toward their NC State degree.
The Wolfpack Connect eligibility form will be available in late January 2026 for students planning to start the program in fall 2026.
- To qualify, students must:
- Have 30 transferable college credits or less completed or in progress at the time they begin formal participation in the Wolfpack Connect program. Students should have at least one year left of coursework (30 or more college credits) to complete at their community college when they start the program.
- Be enrolled at any of North Carolina’s 58 community colleges.
- Plan to pursue one of the eligible majors at NC State.
Once accepted into Wolfpack Connect, participants must maintain a 3.0 GPA, complete their A.A. or A.S. degree, and meet all NC State transfer deadlines. Students who meet these requirements are guaranteed admission — no separate transfer application required.
Building Bridges, Not Barriers
For many community college students, the transfer process can feel uncertain and complex. Under the leadership of Dr. Don Hunt, Senior Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Services, Wolfpack Connect helps remove that uncertainty by offering structured guidance, transparent degree pathways and guaranteed outcomes for qualified students.
The program reflects EMAS’s mission to expand educational access and opportunity by creating equitable, data-informed pathways from community colleges to NC State.
Transfer Pathways
NC State is committed to making an NC State education accessible to students who start their journey elsewhere. The university offers a variety of transfer pathways designed to provide a clear and successful route to joining the Wolfpack — ensuring every student has the opportunity to reach their goals and thrive as part of the Pack.
