Mark your calendars for September 30-October 2, 2016.
The Office of Parents & Families Services invites all parents, families and students to join us for our annual Parents & Families Weekend, September 30 – October 2. This campus-wide event provides parents, families and students the opportunity to celebrate some of NC State’s richest traditions, together. With a variety of family friendly activities and Wolfpack traditions all weekend, this three-day event offers something for everyone with memories to last a lifetime.
Parents & Families Weekend has a host of events happening campus-wide. Many of our colleges and partner programs, such as University College, the Women’s Center and ARTS NC State hold special events for students and families visiting campus. For 2016 we are excited to announce the newest additions to our weekend line-up. This year PACK PARENTS can expect the opportunity for a unique Family Dinner and dining experience at our Case Dining facility exclusively for Parents & Families Weekend on Friday evening; along with the highlighted service initiative for 2016, Build-A-Block, an eleven-home initiative sponsored by the partnership between NC State and the local Habitat for Humanity-Wake County chapter. Of course among the new we wouldn’t get rid of the favorites, PACK PARENTS can expect the return of some of our weekend highlights including Friday night’s Chocolate Festival benefiting the Kay Yow Foundation; the opportunity for parents to paint the Free Expression Tunnel and our Weekend Kickoff Reception including the popular parent-to-student letter writing campaign. On Saturday, Dr. Stafford will once again be offering his famous Bell Tower tours, and then we will move over to Carter-Finley stadium for the Pre-game event and NC State v. Wake Forest football game (kickoff time is TBA).
For more details about any of these events, and more, please visit the full Schedule of Event webpage. Events are being added and finalized as the date draws nearer so please check back for updates.
Registration for Parents & Families Weekend will open on the first day of classes, Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
We look forward to seeing you and your family in September!
