Parents & Families Services offers a variety of opportunities to engage Pack Parents and their students. Whether you are traveling to campus for a campus-wide event or simply coming to visit your special student, we hope the following information will be beneficial to you.
Dining & Lodging
Pack Parents are encouraged to utilize their VIP membership when traveling to Raleigh. Whether you’re in need of overnight accommodations or are looking for a popular restaurant to take your student, and maybe a few suite mates, there are plenty of options to choose from. Parents and families can access a full list of our program partners offering discounts exclusively for NC State Pack Parents, please visit the VIP Discount Program online. If you have questions please feel free to call the Parents’ HelpLine at 919.515.2441.
Often times parents and families have questions about where to park when they are visiting campus. For information on parking during campus visits not associated with one of our events please see Visitor Parking. Details and directions on where to park for Parents & Families Weekend and Spring Fling will also be included in confirmation packets sent directly to registered ticket holders.
Support the Pack
The Office of Parents & Families Services is proud to partner with on-campus service initiatives such as Feed the Pack and the “Styled for Success” Career Closet. We encourage Pack Parents to bring canned food items and gently used business formal and business casual clothing items to any of our sponsored events (i.e. Parents & Families Weekend, Spring Fling, First in Family Luncheon, and PacKIN Action sibling night). Additionally, we are happy to receive these items during regular business hours at our offices in the E. Carroll Joyner Visitor Center M-F throughout the academic year. Donations may also be given directly to the programs. Please see the websites below for additional information, details and locations
Feed the Pack
NC State’s food pantry, Feed the Pack, is a student moderated food pantry located on campus in Quad Commons. The purpose of the pantry is to supplement the food supply for our members of the Wolfpack community who may be experiencing hunger and unable to afford meals. Like most campuses across the country, Feed the Pack is funded through generous donations from individuals and organizations. Help us minimize food insecurity among students by donating non-perishable items such as canned goods, cereal, snacks and toiletries.
“Styled for Success” Career Closet
The Wolfpack Styled for Success career closet provides NC State students with professional clothing options to help them look and feel the part for their next big step. Whether it is an interview, a career fair or an internship, students at State have options through Styled for Success. The closet runs completely on donations from parents, alumni, faculty and staff. Students in need of professional-wear are able to select from gently used articles at no cost. Items needed include suits, blazers, sport coats, pants dress shirts and ties along with handbags and other accessories. Donations are considered a gift to NC State and are tax-deductible.
