Jacqueline Lopez has been working in the higher education realm since she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. She began her career as a College Adviser through the Carolina College Advising Corps serving Pitt County, NC, and has since transitioned to an admissions counselor with NC State’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions. She now serves as an assistant director in the office.
As an assistant director, Lopez focuses on recruiting incoming first-year and transfer students by representing NC State University in school visits, individual meetings with prospective students and families, information sessions, and more. Her duties also include reading and making decisions on student applications and assisting prospective students and families daily by phone and email. Additionally, she is also a coordinator for The Office of Undergraduate Admissions’ Pre-College Summer Programs for high school juniors and seniors, focusing on college preparation and identity exploration for historically underrepresented student populations in North Carolina.
